The axanthic morph is a morph that lacks yellow pigments. Therefore, this morph produces gorgeous reptiles that are varying shades of grey, black, and brown. This is different from albinism which is the lack of all pigments, and usually leaves the animal a beautiful white/yellow color. We figured we’d start this list off with one of the most popular reptiles to produce morphs for – the ball python. While a stunning morph on it’s own, it can also be mixed with other morphs to create stunning results.

Hognose snakes are already adorable enough with their up-turned noses, but it’s hard not to fall in love when paired with the axanthic morph, which gives the snake beautiful stony colors.

We considered this one a bonus because even though it is technically still axanthic, this beautiful iguana is blue instead of the black, greys, and browns that we saw on the rest of this list! The reason that the axanthic morph turns the iguana blue is since this type of iguana is usually green, the lack of yellow and red pigment still leaves the blue pigment behind, creating these blue beauties!
